 The only decent civil action in the capital that has stayed in our memory in recent years is Nikolay Tsiskaridze’s statement against the rampant theft in the reconstruction of the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theater.

 Tsiskaridze is the only one of the whole cultural beau monde who urged to preserve our unique ballet school.

 After the theft from the funds for space industry, after destruction of the state infrastructure and propriety, Russian ballet remained the only object of national pride. And this is because there are still honest and worthy people there, like Nikolay Tsiskaridze. Nikolay Tsiskaridze is an exclusively talented man; he is a real artist whose merits are absolutely indisputable. This is for his fidelity to principle and his decency that he underwent persecution and suffered indignity. But he has not been broken down! This is a man who was tested by the worldwide glory, the man to whom the post of the mayor of the capital is in no way the means to get being known.

 Nikolay Tsiskaridze has already got the worldwide fame, having won love and esteem in the whole world. This is not a typical case for Russia when a no-name man takes abruptly a high post, giving nothing in return.

 The whole Russia is tired of extremely uncultured news from the capital! It is culture that we expect from the capital of our Motherland! And it is embodied today by Nikolay Tsiskaridze!

 The mayor of the capital must serve an example of the level of culture, of decency, education, and the ability to strive for the aims set. For the whole Russia Nikolay Tsiskaridze personifies these qualities today.

 The questions of culture are of great importance nowadays! And what Russia wants to see from the capital in the first place, is not financial scandals, examples of outrageous corruption, or street riots, but culture!
